WWW Wednesday: September 13th 2017

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

The three W’s are:

What are you current reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Read

I’m about three quarters of the way through Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. I’m not enjoying it as much as Six of Crows (I’m not sure that would have been possible!) but that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying it (if that makes sense!). I’m also really excited (and slightly terrified!) as I approach the end of the novel and I’m so sad that I’m going to have to say goodbye to the lovely crew soon!

Recently Finished

I recently finished Six of Crows and it was absolutely amazing (I can’t believe that last Wednesday I was still struggling to get into it!). If you want to read me trying to articulate how I feel about this novel and the characters in it you can read my review here.

Next Up

I actually don’t know what I’m going to do when I finish Crooked Kingdom. At the moment I think I’m in denial about the fact that it’s going to end so I’m going to pretend I don’t have to decide what to read next!

So that’s my week in reading…lots of Leigh Bardugo and deep denial! So what are your three W’s? And will I survive finishing Crooked Kingdom? Let me know!

Happy reading!

  1. I initially struggled to get into SoC too! I think it was too much information all at once for us non-fantasy readers… But I’m glad you’re enjoying CK – I’m not sure why I liked it more than SoC, possibly because I didn’t have that initial ‘what the heck is going on??’ hurdle to get over.

    1. Yeah exactly, I hadn’t read a full on fantasy for so long so it was a bit of a shock to the system! Thank you! To be fair there are bits I prefer of Crooked Kingdom (like I love getting Wylan chapters, I really missed them in Six of Crows!) but I think on the whole I just found Six of Crows so good it was pretty much impossible to beat! 😂😂

      1. Me too, Wylan’s chapters are definitely a highlight of mine! Yeah it is cool and I don’t think I expected it because we’d been so much information in Six of Crows I wasn’t sure how much more there was left to learn about the character’s pasts but there was still loads, like learning more about Inej’s family and her days at the Manegerie is so interesting!
