October is here which means autumn is in full flow and changes are afoot. Leaves are turning colour and falling from the trees, soon we will be winding the clocks back and the days will grow shorter. In the spirit of change, then, I thought I might tweak my end of month wrap up a little bit.
Normally at the end of the month I do a roundup post where I talk about all of the books I read that month. This used to work really well because I only reviewed a few of the books I read so it was a chance to gather my thoughts and offer some insights into the novels I hadn’t fully reviewed. But, at the moment I am at a place where I am reviewing the majority of the books I read so the round up was starting to feel a bit repetitive. So, I thought I might try something different today, because why not?
Books read this month:
The Hate U Give – Angie Thomas
Six of Crows – Leigh Bardugo
Crooked Kingdom – Leigh Bardugo
13 Minutes – Sarah Pinsborough
After reading a lot in July and August, I didn’t read so much in September. But, that was to be expected, what with everything else going on like moving back to uni and volunteering during freshers week. Plus, I absolutely loved three of these books so I think it was a quality over quantity type of month.
No joke, this is probably the most difficult choice I will have to make this year. The Hate U Give was incredible, but I think I have to go with Six of Crows. It has been so long since I have really enjoyed a fantasy novel and I just loved Six of Crows. For more gushing feel free to check out my review!
Pick of the posts:
I managed to fit in quite a few posts in September even though I was busy which I’m happy with. I especially enjoyed:
Discussing Why I don’t have a physical or virtual TBR and getting other people’s insights in TBR’s.
Recommending some Autumn Reads
Finding out How I Choose My Books
And of course taking part in Top 5 Tuesday every week!
The current situation:
Currently I am reading Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. Although when I say reading, I actually mean avoiding. Not going to lie, I think I might be in a bit of a reading slump. I’m hoping it’s just tiredness but we shall see…
How was your September? Did you read any good books? Also, I’m still debating how to set up these monthly wrap ups so is there anything you like to include in your monthly wrap up that you wouldn’t mind me trying out? Thank you!!
Best wishes for October, and as always, happy reading!
