The ‘Me in Book Characters Tag’

Aaah, I’m free! I’m honestly so excited because on Monday I did my uni exam after handing in coursework the week before and now I have just under two weeks of freedom with no essays, no assignments and no course readings just free time to fill with reading and blogging and basically anything I fancy doing! So, for my first post of this fantastic stress-free period I’m going to do a tag that the lovely Ash and Lo over at Windowsill Books came up with and were nice enough to tag me in. Thank you!!

The Rules:

  • Thank the creators of the tag (Us! Ash and Lo @Windowsill Books)
  • Thank whoever tagged you
  • List 5 book characters who you are most like and why
  • Tag your friends!

MY CHARACTERS:

Hermione from the Harry Potter series by J.K.Rowling

Not only do I feel like me and Hermione are quite similar but I also strive to be like her because since I first read the Harry Potter series when I was younger she has been a massive inspiration! Both Hermione and I love school and learning as well as our friends who we would do anything for!

Matilda from Matilda by Roald Dahl

Ok so I might be a little old to compare myself to Matilda now but when I was younger I literally felt like she was my spirit animal. Luckily I didn’t have terrible parents like Matilda but we did both love reading, school, learning and visiting the library.

Cath from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I didn’t read Fangirl until my second year of University but when I did at points I literally felt like I was reading about myself! I really struggled with Uni at the beginning but managed to find my place just like Cath! Also just like Cath I love books and fictional characters play a massively important role in my life (also I also love Simon and Baz!)

Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Elizabeth also loves reading (what did you expect from a book blogger?) and cares enormously about her sisters even if they sometimes get on her nerves (same Elizabeth, same) but she also has plenty of flaws like being judgemental and stubborn which I’m going to be honest, I can also relate to!

Sam from The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R.Tolkien

Right, so first off on this one I can hugely relate to Hobbits just as a race, I too love food and eating, socialising and parties especially if there is dancing! Like Sam, leaving home scares me (my quest to Mordor was definitely me leaving home to go to Uni) but I’d like to think that I dealt with everything that came my way bravely (sometimes I can’t believe I’m actually going to graduate this year!). I also love my friends just like Sam does!

So there we have it, 5 characters that I not only think I am similar to but aspire to be like too! I hope you enjoyed finding out a little more about me and the literary characters I identify with! Do we share any fictional characters who are similar to us?

I TAG:

Rhea @Bookchanted

Katie @Never not Reading

Norees @noreadstoogreat

I’m not sure if you guys have done this tag already so no worries if you have or just don’t fancy it!

Happy reading!

    1. Yes definitely, I love finding characters who I can relate to but also aspire to be more like! I think it’s also a way of figuring out the parts of myself that I am happy with and the parts I still want to work on when I see them in fictional characters 🙂

    1. Same, even though I do think I’m similar to Sam I think it might be part wishful thinking too!! You’re very welcome! I know, I struggled too, I had to ask my sisters and my mum for some help which was pretty fun too, seeing who they thought I was similar too as well! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! 🙂

      1. Haha yeah exactly, we were trying to figure out books we have all read so everyone would understand the reference and then once we had done that we were mainly naming various booklovers plus my big sister said I was like Mary Bennett just because we both play piano! The general consensus was that I’m much more like Elizabeth though so that’s why she made the list!

  1. Ah this is such a lovely tag and I love your choices so, so much. I admire Hermione a whole lot and aspire to be just like her as well, ahah. I LOVE that you picked Sam as one of your choices here, he is such an incredible character and probably my favorite in the series ❤
